Privacy Policy — Linguiki

Effective date: September 4, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how Linguiki ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the Linguiki mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account & registration data: name, email address, and password (passwords are stored securely / hashed).
  • Onboarding & preference data: responses you provide during onboarding such as motivation, available time, skillFocus, hobbies, mainChallenge, languageLevel, and age.
  • Usage & progress data: in-app answers, learning progress, completion status, and basic usage statistics.
  • Device-related tokens: tokens needed to deliver optional features such as push notifications (we store the token itself, not your device raw data).
  • Purchase records: data necessary to manage subscriptions and purchases (we do not store raw payment card details).

We collect information directly from you (forms and onboarding) and automatically while you use the App (app interactions and usage data). By using the App and providing information, you consent to this collection in accordance with this policy.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • Provide and operate the App: create and manage your account, deliver personalized learning content, and store your progress and preferences.
  • Improve the product: analyze aggregated usage and performance to improve features and the user experience.
  • Communications: send important account messages and (if you consent) optional reminders or push notifications.
  • Payments & subscriptions: manage billing, subscriptions, refunds, and related customer support.
  • Security and reliability: detect and address errors, misuse, or security incidents and provide technical support.
  • Legal compliance: respond to legal requests or obligations as required by law.

We only process data to the extent necessary to provide these services and to fulfill legitimate business purposes.

3. How we share information

We may share personal information in the following limited ways:

  • Service providers: we share data with trusted third-party providers who perform services for us (for example: analytics, crash/error reporting, push-notification delivery, and payment/subscription management).
  • Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information when required by law, to respond to court orders or government requests, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Linguiki, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will require the acquiring entity to honor this policy.

We do not sell your personal information. When we share data with service providers we require them to protect it and to use it only to provide services to us.

4. Push notifications & consent

Push notifications are optional. If you consent, we will collect and store a push token from your device so we can send reminders and important messages. You can revoke notification permissions at any time through your device settings.

5. Payments and billing

We use a third-party payment service to process purchases and manage subscriptions. We do not store full payment card details on our systems. We retain purchase records as necessary for billing, refunds, tax, and customer support.

6. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. However, no system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to or from the App. You acknowledge and accept this risk when using the App.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is not intended for children under the minimum age required by your jurisdiction (commonly 13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under the applicable age without verified parental consent, we will take steps to delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we make material changes we will post the updated policy with a new effective date.
